Funnies Lately (More)

On the green smoothie we had for breakfast:

Lexi: "What is in this smoothie? Please don't say the word spinach to me." 

On fighting over a necklace: 

Natalie: "I don't like it when a toy makes you scream and fight so if you don't start sharing, I will have to take the toy away." 

Zara: "You are going to start a big toy collection and that necklace will be your first toy."

On kissing:
Zara: "Mommy and Daddy, why are you kissing?"
Marcus: "Because we are married"
Zara: "But you already HAD your wedding!"

On whining:
Marcus: "I am so tired of listening to you whine"
Zara: "Well you could just plug your ears you know"

On money in the piggy bank: 
Zara: "I'm saving up all my money for farmer college"
Lexi "That's going to take a really long time. I'm saving up all my money for soccer camp and I will just come visit you at farmer college"

On favorite toys going into "timeout":
Marcus: "Lexi, what's your favorite toy? Its going to go into timeout because you aren't listening."
Lexi: "Um, well, hmmmmm. You can take my Elsa dolls."
Marcus: "No, I'm going to take your horses."
Lexi: "NOOOOOOO!!!"

3 Month Munchkin

Ariana is three months old today. We love this sweet little munchkin so much.

Shirzads in Sunriver

The Shirzad clan headed to Sunriver for our annual family vacation. Lexi and Zara were so excited to sleep in the same room with their older cousins. We spent lots of time swimming at the SHARC, walking and exploring the pathways, visited the nature center, the stables, the Village and Lava Lands and the lava cave.

Ariana is 2 months

Oh where does the time go? With the twins it was newborn groundhog day over and over for the first three months so it felt like it lasted forever. Ariana is much more along for the ride and fitting right in with the rest of the family so it feels like she is growing so fast.

She is such a happy sweet baby. She naps well during the day, sleeps thru the night, eats well and happily plays on the playgym mat. We are getting more and more smiles from her and it is pretty much the best thing ever. Zara loves to sing her songs that go on and on so we are all glad Ariana is a captive audience.

Her 2 month stats are:
10 lbs 10 oz (35th percentile)
23" (70th percentile)

Fourth of July

We had a very low-key fourth. Holidays always make me wish we lived closer to family to get together. Lexi and Zara made our favorite patriotic dessert and we went to the local neighborhood parade. It was the first ever parade for the girls and they loved it. There were horses so Zara was happy. There was also a Frozen themed float (they threw ice) so Lexi was happy and everyone threw them lots of candy. Zara quickly learned, "If I wave and jump up and down, they throw more candy!" Of course they ate a few pieces and forgot all about it so really its the parents that really win (or lose if you consider the dental impact).
