Ariana is 2 months

Oh where does the time go? With the twins it was newborn groundhog day over and over for the first three months so it felt like it lasted forever. Ariana is much more along for the ride and fitting right in with the rest of the family so it feels like she is growing so fast.

She is such a happy sweet baby. She naps well during the day, sleeps thru the night, eats well and happily plays on the playgym mat. We are getting more and more smiles from her and it is pretty much the best thing ever. Zara loves to sing her songs that go on and on so we are all glad Ariana is a captive audience.

Her 2 month stats are:
10 lbs 10 oz (35th percentile)
23" (70th percentile)

Fourth of July

We had a very low-key fourth. Holidays always make me wish we lived closer to family to get together. Lexi and Zara made our favorite patriotic dessert and we went to the local neighborhood parade. It was the first ever parade for the girls and they loved it. There were horses so Zara was happy. There was also a Frozen themed float (they threw ice) so Lexi was happy and everyone threw them lots of candy. Zara quickly learned, "If I wave and jump up and down, they throw more candy!" Of course they ate a few pieces and forgot all about it so really its the parents that really win (or lose if you consider the dental impact).

Annual Beach Trip

For the third year in a row we headed to Rockaway Beach for a weekend of fun with good friends. After three years, its a tradition now! We had a great time as always relaxing, walking on the beach and playing in the sand.

Lexi is 4!

Lexi is a happy, excitable and loving four year old. She jumps up and down with glee over even the smallest excitements. She loves dresses that twirl, princesses, all things Frozen and Elsa and stickers. She likes to play with her castle, read books, ride her bike, go swimming, paint and make art cards and play in the kitchen or go on make-believe adventures with Zara.

Lexi likes to express how she is feeling and will tell us often "that makes me sad" or "I am so happy!" When she doesn't get her way she will threaten, "I'm not going to be happy if you do that!" Ha! She says she wants to be a nurse when she grows up.

Her favorite foods are macaroni and cheese, beans and rice, blueberries, raspberries carrots with hummus and ice cream.

Zara is 4!

Zara is so excited to be 4. It is an interesting and entertaining mix of deep thoughtful discussions and whining tantrums. Yesterday she asked me to explain what bacteria is and I'm not sure if I really .

Zara loves animals more than anything else. She spends hours acting out stories with her animals by herself. We gave her a big red barn for her birthday and she is loving playing with all her horses and farm animals in the barn. She also loves lions and dogs. She used to always tell us she was going to be a doctor or a veterinarian, but lately I've heard her say zoo keeper too.

When she is not playing with all of her animals, she likes to read books, do arts and craft projects, ride her bike and scooter, play in her kitchen and go on made up adventures with Lexi. She also loves to play with her new baby sister and is a great helper!

Zara loves playing with Lexi and they usually get along well when Lexi lets Zara be in charge. She is most of all daddy's girl. When Daddy's home, Zara is always with him or trying to find him. When he isn't home, she is asking about him. She loves to snuggle in and read books with us, not happy unless we have an arm around her or she is in our lap.

Her favorite foods are burritos, beans and rice and macaroni and cheese along with almost any fruit.

Here is her annual interview (done earlier this month on her birthday):
