Funnies Lately
This is the age of verbal truths. I want to document these conversations to remember later (and to entertain you now).

Me (just getting home from work): Zara, can I have a hug?
Zara: No. Daddy will be home soon to give you a hug.
Me: Can I please have a big hug?
Zara: No, I don't like that flower shirt you are wearing.

Me: Zara, do you hear the garage door opening? Do you want to go stand by the door to surprise Daddy?
Zara: No, else he will hit me with door when he walks in.

Lexi: Daddy is a lion, Mommy is a hippo and me and Zara are monkeys.
Me: [sets the cookie down]

Here Fishy Fishy
Its been really quiet this month as lots of real life is happening. I'm struggling with feeling like blogging should be a priority among all the other things I want to spend time on in the few precious hours we have. It feels like I'm talking to myself sometimes, but I do want to record and share so I will continue to blog as I'm inspired to do so. Rather than try to catch up, I'm just going to jump to now.
Yesterday Mu took the girls to the free zoo (aka PetCo) to visit the animals and buy some fish. They came home with five goldfish, a fishbowl and fish food.
Lexi and Zara are unimpressed so far. The first thing Zara told me yesterday was, "put them in the garbage and throw them away." Hmmm. Today during dinner they both decided they should eat the fish. "Give me that fish so I can eat his tail."
So far all the fish are still alive. We'll see how long this lasts.

Christmas Eve Dinner
My mom and Lydia and Peter and their kids all came and stayed with us for a few days leading up to Christmas. We had a great time visiting, getting out for a nice adult dinner, cousins play time and went to Old Spaghetti Factory for a collective birthday dinner. Christmas Eve we had dinner at our house with the family that was here, plus some good friends.
After dinner, the kids decorated "Christmas trees" made out of waffle cones. I think it was a hit!
Later that night after all the kiddos were in bed, the guys put together the girls' big presents!
