Camp Poops-A-Lot

Marcus told me I need to blog more of the little happenings from our days here at Camp Poops-A-Lot so here goes.

Both girls, especially Zara, hate getting their diapers changed. Its fairly common for this age. I read that it is developmentally inappropriate for babies/toddlers in the 12-18 month age group to enjoy being confined in one spot (changing table, car seat, etc).

As I was getting the girls ready for bed last night, I changed Zara's diaper (no poo) at about 6:45. To appease the princess, I sang twinkle, twinkle and entertained her with a bottle of diaper cream. Then I changed Lexi. We rinse and repeat around here. Whew, done with that fun chore for the night.

Oh, but hold on because at 6:48 as soon as I finished with Lexi, Zara squats over pushing on the bookshelf for leverage, squeezing her face with focus and bam, the smell hits me. Crap. Literally in all definitions of the word.

Up she goes back on the changing table for another diaper change and the screaming starts right on cue, with even more vigor this time. WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING UP HERE AGAIN LADY? YOU JUST CHANGED MY DIAPER THREE MINUTES AGO! HELLO? I AM NOT HAPPY! WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME AGAIN?

Well, little Z, you pooped your pants right after I changed you. Do you want to sleep in it for the next 12 hours? Please, for the love of all that is decent, keep your hands and feet out of the poo and this will go much faster. No fun for me either, trust me.

Fun in Yakima

We finally made it to Yakima to visit Bebe Jan and Grandpa last weekend. It just so happened that Khalid and Susan were there with their kiddos too so we had lots of fun with all the kids. A&Z love playing with their cousins! They all spent a of time playing in the pools.

Pretty fun looking, huh? The little pool was the "hot tub" with warmer water that the boys (men?) carried outside from the kitchen.

Lexi could not get enough of the slide. I have about 50 pictures of her on that slide with the exact same expression.  The baby who was scared of the running water in the bathtub has come a long way!

Zara relaxing with her Bebe Jan.

Lexi continues to love jewelry.

All smiles in the car on the way back to Portland Monday. Little did we know that we were bringing the stomach flu home with us.

Lexi (left) and Zara (right) with all the gear in the back. We are training them into little travelers.

Here is a video of Lexi and Zara in the pool on Sunday.

Roadside Assistance

A&Z love pushing their walking/riding toys around. Unfortunately they don't watch where they are going or know how to turn. This results on lots of whining every time they hit the wall. Hence, lots of roadside assistance.

4 Little Shoes

The babies have been sporting these little Robeez Mini Shoez (like these ones below) for a few months now, but they were starting to get too small and were really trashed with all the scuffs from crawling in them.

I have been eyeing these adorable saltwater sandals so we headed to Nordstrom yesterday to try them out.

I was seriously disappointed because they did not work at all. The girls have such chubby little feet that they could not even be squished into the front of the sandal. Sigh. Maybe next year. So we ended up with these also cute little shoes from PediPed. They are seriously roomy and look super comfy for the little sausage feet.
